Bullfighting has been a part of Spanish/Latin culture for centuries. These pictures were taken in Mexico, for many of these young matadors glory in the ring is the only hope they might have of escaping the so-called ‘dead-end’ life they have been born into. This is not about celebration or condemnation but rather the dance of life. The real interest for me as the photographer is looking at what the audience is doing whilst this is happening, then seeing the corpse be taken away – fallen and broken - by a small army of men.
